Is buying one straightening kit enough to do the Brazilian straightening treatment if I have long and thick hair ?

For long and/or thick hair, falling below the shoulders, you will need at least 2 straightening kits in order to use 2 tubes of volume reducing lotion and 2 tubes of nourishing mask. In this way, you will have more volume reducing lotion which is the keratin-based lotion that you must apply all over your hair.

In the Brazilian smoothing kit, do I have to apply the volume reducing lotion?

Applying volume reducing lotion is mandatory even if you don't have a lot of volume. Indeed, it is this product that will reduce the volume and give the long-lasting smoothing effect on the hair.

Is Brazilian straightening suitable for all hair types?

Brazilian smoothing is effective on all hair types:

- European, Mediterranean, Afro, Asian, Métis hair...

- natural hair, curly, wavy, curly, frizzy...

- colored, bleached, highlighted, straightened, straightened hair...

Will the hair be 100% straight with Brazilian straightening?

If you follow the instructions correctly, the Brazilian straightening makes the hair 100% straight and also strengthens its resistance to humidity. No more curls or frizz! The hair will be sublimated, nourished and much shinier.

Is Brazilian straightening a straightening?

Brazilian straightening is not straightening. Straightening is a lasting transformation that modifies the structure of the hair. So, if you want to regain your natural texture, you will have to wait until there is regrowth and then you will have to cut the relaxed hair. Straightened hair cannot regain its natural texture, whereas hair that has been straightened with the Brazilian straightening technique will regain its natural texture after 3 months.

Which is better between a Brazilian straightening and a straightening?

It all depends on your preference. If you want to have straight hair temporarily, we recommend that you do a Brazilian straightening. After a few months, you will regain your natural texture. On the other hand, if you want permanent straightening and you have very curly to very curly Afro-type hair, a relaxer will be a better choice.

Can we do a Brazilian smoothing following recent and repeated highlights and colorings?

There are no contraindications even if it is preferable to achieve your color 7 to 10 days after the Brazilian smoothing. The latter, unlike coloring or another hair technique, is not an aggressive chemical process on the hair. Brazilian straightening being a keratin-based treatment, the hair will be nourished, silkier and shinier and the structure of the hair will not be modified.

Is Brazilian straightening compatible with permanent straightening and smoothing?

Laura Sim's Brazilian Smoothing is compatible if (and only if) straightening has been done at least 1 month before, but it is not recommended. Keratin, recognized for its restorative and nourishing properties, will fill in the gaps in the hair created by the chemical action of straightening and restore the keratin at the heart of the hair. It will be necessary after straightening to maintain your hair with moisturizing formulas adapted to your hair type. Your hair will thus be magnified for the duration of the straightening.

Is Laura Sim's Brazilian smoothing compatible with pregnancy or breastfeeding?

There are no medical contraindications prohibiting the use of a Laura Sim's Brazilian smoothing kit. The product is formalin-free and does not contain harmful ingredients for pregnant women or breastfeeding their child. The products in our kit do not go into the skin and remain in the scalp stage. Thus, the natural ingredients of the product make the application completely harmless to the body.

Can Brazilian smoothing be suitable for children?

Brazilian straightening can be applied to children from the age of 6 because it does not contain any trace of formaldehyde or other products likely to damage children's scalps.
